Commercial Dumbwaiter Lifts — Supply & Installation UK
Deltron supplies and installs commercial dumbwaiter lifts for businesses across the UK. Whether you run a busy restaurant kitchen, manage a multi-floor hotel, or operate a healthcare facility, a dumbwaiter eliminates unnecessary manual handling, speeds up service and keeps your staff safer.
We supply standard models ready for quick installation as well as fully bespoke solutions for spaces where standard sizes won’t fit — and every installation is backed by our nationwide engineering network.

Why Businesses Choose a Dumbwaiter
A dumbwaiter lift does one thing exceptionally well: it moves goods between floors safely, quickly and without putting strain on your staff. For any business operating across multiple levels, the benefits are immediate.
Faster service and smoother operations
Food reaches tables hotter, stock reaches the floor quicker — without a single stair run.
Reduced manual handling risk
Eliminates one of the leading causes of workplace injury in hospitality and healthcare.
Compliant and safe by design
Supplied to BS EN 81-3 standards, LOLER compliant, with full commissioning documentation.
Nationwide coverage
Installed and supported by Deltron engineers across the UK.
Dumbwaiter Lift Sizes & Capacities
We offer three capacity options to suit different commercial requirements. Not sure which is right for you? Our team will advise based on your building, usage and load requirements — just get in touch.
50kg Dumbwaiter
Ideal for restaurants, cafés, pubs and hotels moving meals, drinks and light goods between floors.
Best for: 2–4 floor operations with moderate throughput.
100kg Dumbwaiter
Ideal for larger commercial kitchens, busy hospitality operations, retail stockrooms and healthcare facilities.
Best for: high-volume environments where heavier loads or larger items need transporting regularly.
250kg Trolley Lift
Ideal for hotels, healthcare facilities, warehouses and retail where full trolleys or bulky goods need moving between floors.
Best for: operations where wheeled trolleys or large carts are part of daily workflow.
Types of Commercial Dumbwaiter
Not all buildings are the same, and neither are our dumbwaiters. We offer a variety of configurations to suit different spaces and operational requirements.
Standard Dumbwaiter
The most common configuration for commercial installations. Waist-height loading makes it ideal for kitchen and food service environments where speed and ease of use matter most. Available in 50kg and 100kg capacities.
Floor-Level Loading Dumbwaiter
Designed for operations that need to load directly from floor level — ideal for trolley transport, industrial applications and anywhere waist-height loading isn’t practical. Works particularly well in healthcare and retail environments.
Double-Decker Dumbwaiter
Two separate lift cars operating in the same shaft, significantly increasing throughput in high-volume environments. The right choice for busy hotel kitchens or large restaurants where a single car creates a bottleneck during peak service.
Bottom-Drive Dumbwaiter
Specifically engineered for buildings with restricted headroom or limited overhead space — a common challenge in heritage buildings, listed properties and older commercial premises. If you’ve been told a dumbwaiter won’t fit in your building, this is often the solution.
Not sure which configuration suits your building? Talk to our team — we’ll assess your space and recommend the right solution.

Sectors We Serve
Restaurants, Kitchens & Hospitality
In fast-paced food service environments, a dumbwaiter is one of the most impactful operational investments a business can make. Hot food reaches tables faster, kitchen staff stay where they’re needed, and stair accidents are eliminated. We work with restaurants, pubs, hotels, cafés and catering operations of all sizes, from independent venues to national chains.
Healthcare & Care Homes
Dumbwaiters play a vital role in healthcare settings, transporting meals, medication, linen and supplies between departments quietly, safely and hygienically. Our systems are built for continuous operation and comply fully with relevant health and safety standards.
Retail, Offices & Commercial Buildings
For retail operations with stockrooms on a different floor, offices moving supplies and documents, or any multi-level premises where manual handling is a daily burden, a dumbwaiter delivers an immediate efficiency gain. Our solutions are built for frequent use in demanding back-of-house environments.

Dumbwaiter FAQs
What our customers commonly asked about our Dumbwaiter Solutions.
A dumbwaiter is a small goods-only service lift designed to transport items — meals, stock, linen, supplies or equipment — between floors of a building safely and efficiently. Unlike passenger lifts, dumbwaiters are not designed to carry people. They are also commonly referred to as food lifts or service lifts.
Deltron’s standard dumbwaiter range is available in 50kg and 100kg capacities. For operations requiring movement of full trolleys or bulky goods, our 250kg trolley lift provides a higher-capacity solution. Our team will advise on the right capacity based on your specific usage and load requirements.
We offer several configurations — Standard, Floor-Level Loading, Double-Decker and Bottom-Drive — to suit different buildings and operational requirements. The right type depends on your building layout, available headroom, entry configuration and volume of usage. See the full breakdown above or speak to our team for a recommendation.
In most cases yes — including older and heritage buildings where headroom or shaft space is restricted. Our bottom-drive configuration is specifically designed for these situations. We carry out a free site survey before recommending a solution, so if you’ve been told a dumbwaiter won’t fit in your building, speak to us before ruling it out.
Most standard two-floor installations are completed in one to two days. More complex installations involving shaft construction or three or more stops typically take four to seven days. We’ll provide a specific timeline as part of your quote.

Yes. While our commercial range is designed primarily for high-frequency business use, dumbwaiters are also installed in residential settings — particularly larger homes, care facilities and listed buildings. Contact us to discuss your specific requirements.
Yes. All Deltron dumbwaiter installations come with a warranty covering parts and workmanship. Full warranty terms are provided at the point of installation. We also offer ongoing dumbwaiter maintenance and servicing to keep your lift compliant, safe and operational long-term.
